Copper & Brass Details
Copper and Brass are also known to kill more than 99.9% of bacteria within two hours of contact.
Often paired together, due to their distinct reddish hue, copper and brass products offer great aesthetic appeal, while maintaining excellent mechanical properties not found with other types of materials. Normal tarnishing was found not to impair antimicrobial effectiveness.
Copper
Copper has excellent electrical and thermal conductivity. It also offers good strength, good formability, and resistance to corrosion. Most commonly found in plumbing, construction, or electrical work, copper metal provides numerous beneficial qualities for a broad range of applications.
Brass
Brass is primarily composed of copper and zinc. Brass’ high zinc content provides increased strength and ductility, while the inclusion of manganese results in enhanced corrosion resistance. Brass is typically used for decorative purposes due to its appearance, however, it's also extensively used for many applications in manufacturing, construction, electrical, and plumbing. Most commonly found in gears and bearings.
