Aluminum Details
The most common alloy of aluminum is the 6000 series, that's because good multi-purpose alloys are found in the 6000 series.
Aluminum 6061 is a structural alloy that provides excellent weldability and medium-to-high strength properties as an anodized metal. It can also be heat treated to improve corrosion resistance, making it a versatile aluminum alloy.
6063 Aluminum has lower strength properties than 6061, but offers superior finishing quality, making it suitable for architectural and building applications where high strength is not required.
The 5000 series offers strong welding characteristics and corrosion resistance in a marine environment. Alloy series 2000 and 7000 are high in strength and widely used in the aircraft industry. The 1000 series is better than 99% pure aluminum and has several applications typically in the electrical and chemical fields.
